2021.12.07 11:59 PessimisticPrussian Any careers for big picture thinkers specifically roles that aren't leadership or entrepreneur?
Are there any careers that are suited for ADHD big picture thinkers or those who are good at creativity, strategy and ideas but struggle to muddle through the finer, clerical details? I've held many jobs over the years from minimum wage to higher paying positions such as executive assistant and business operations but every time, I've completely flopped when it came to managing detailed oriented tasks as I'm easily forgetful, easily overlook minutiae details despite extra time, unable to multitask, misinterpret information and have trouble learning technical multi-step assignments.
On top of that, meddling clerical duties drive me insane. The inefficiency, the bureaucracy, the BS busywork etc. I'm currently a business operations coordinator and already i'm struggling to manage the myriad of tasks, projects and contracts that are constantly flooding my inbox. That's another thing, I can't keep up with the constant flow of emails. Everyday is like playing the advance level of Diner Dash.
The constant theme is that I'm terrible with detailed oriented tasks such as administration but I excel in areas where autonomy, creativity and ideas are valued. However, most jobs that capitalize on these skillsets are concentrated in leadership roles or those who become entrepreneurs/freelancers neither of which I'm ready for.
Are there fields where I could thrive as a big picture thinker and strategist without having to take on a leadership position that requires extensive amount of experience and credentials? Anything out there where results matter more than accuracy that isn't sales or art oriented?

2021.12.07 11:59 Wenk_wenk11-3 How do you get coworkers/managers to respect your pronouns? (Following is what I’ve just been dealing with so far, not necessary to read)
I’ve introduced myself with they/them, and explained that if it’s easier for them they can use he/him. This is becoming increasingly frustrating.
The other week, I had a meeting with my manager and she kept she/her-ing me the whole time. So, at the end I asked her if there was anything I could do to make it so people were using the correct pronouns, because if she’s on board with using them then others are more likely to follow— and, not that it’s any of her business, but I said “to put things into perspective for you, I’m in the process of medically transitioning. I am not a girl.” She responded with “well I’m assuming you’ll be changing your name at some point too” “No, I actually really like my name. I’ve thought about changing it, but I realized I would just be doing so to make things easier for other people. And that doesn’t seem like a very good reason to change it.”
She seemed frustrated by this— and ended the meeting sort of abruptly. Then at a different meeting, while being introduced to all of my coworkers, she still used the incorrect pronouns. I did let people know when it was my turn to speak that I use they/them but he/him is okay if that’s easier
I feel like I’ve done everything I can. I have my pronouns in my email. I don’t have any coworkers who are peers either, they’re all 50+. I’m having a difficult time with all of this.
What have you done to fix this issue?

2021.12.07 11:59 svensono Blocked by founder (Part 2)
Two days ago I posted that I was blocked from the official telegram channel by the founder. The offical channel is the only place SPE openly shares their response to the hack. There are no official mentions on Reddit, twitter, discord, or the telegram announcement channel of the hack and their response of freezing all activity. Assuming not everyone uses telegram a part of the investors is left in the dark.
A recap of why I was blocked. I DM'ed the founder with my worries about the response to the hack. People might have invested too much of their money in the token, money they need short term. People shouldn't do this, but I think younger people tend to. Freezing this during a possible peak or low has consequences. I apparently misunderstood the duration of this freeze and he lost his cool instantly. My bad if I made a wrong assumption, but I have not been rude. Unlike the founder. I understand he is under tremendous pressure, but this is what you signed up for starting such a business and attract investments.
A friendly community membeadmin commented on my post. He offered to mitigate and try to get me back in. Thanks for that. He has been friendly, but asked me to remove the post. I've had no problem with that initially. He contacted the founder in question but no update after two days.
Why do I share this? I think that the founders response to me personally was not ok. My bad if I was wrong. I'm not too proud to admit my mistakes, but I didn't get that chance. If I interpret it wrong, maybe other people did too, so let's talk about it. We're grown ups.. calling me a f**** liar and instantly blocking me from official communication channel, which excludes me from all information on this hack, the freeze, and thus on what's going on with my investment is not a healthy response to criticism and does not create a healthy environment.
I won't let one person, even it's one of the founders, take away me enthousiasm for this project. I believe in openness. Criticism is to learn from. So this post is meant that way, and not to harm the project.
Yesterday one of the updates was shared here on Reddit. It would be highly appreciated if people keep doing this. For people without access to the channel, like me, and for the people who do not use Telegram at all.

2021.12.07 11:59 DarmorGamz Pro Micro Switch Controller Help
I'm attempting to build a Pokemon shiny hunting bot using python.
I'm using opencv for the image processing, and that works. However I'm stuck on creating a 'controller' to communicate with over serial.
I'm following along with this github project:
When I reset the board two times quickly to all the board to be written to, I use the avrdude command:
' sudo avrdude -v -patmega32u4 -cavr109 -P/dev/ttyACM0 -Uflash:w:output.hex '
I board will either disconnect and reconnect as a different port ACM[0-8] or if I do manage to catch it at the right moment it just gets stuck trying to write the firmware and doesn't give me any progress bars.
Does anyone have a better joystick/controller project I can follow? Or assist with the project above.
